Chapter 16
Birdy woke up to the steamy aroma from the kitchen. It was past 7 already, nine hours since she fell asleep. She pressed her hand against her forehead, trying to endure the pain. Then she remembered that she had drunk half a bottle of wine all by herself.
She stood up and retracted the blind that Lycanthropos had closed the night before, oblivious to everything that had happened while she was asleep.
She felt very comfortable, and for the first time in a very long while, she didn’t have to bother about Joe bursting into her room and having a row before she was even ready to start her day. Joe had been as sweet as Lycanthropos at the start, so even though she wanted to be very hopeful that Lycanthropos was different, she allowed a margin of safety for her emotions, just in case she turned out to be wrong.
