Chapter 15
“I think it’s becoming difficult to live with Joe, and it’s getting worse every day,” Birdy said to Lycanthropos as they sat in their usual café. Birdy had convinced Lycanthropos to love her type of coffee, so whenever they met up at the café, the barista already knew what to offer them.
They hadn’t been seeing each other very much lately. A large part of the reason was that Birdy felt that Joe had eyes on her to notice where she was going and whom she was meeting. Part of the reason their meetings had been sparse, though, was due to Lycanthropos.
“You seem really busy lately,” Birdy said to him. “Is it school or something else?”
“I’ve been busy with a lot of stuff lately,” Lycanthropos replied.
“Is there something you’re not telling me?”
Silence.
“You know you can tell me anything, right?”
And yes, there were so many things Lycanthropos wanted to tell her. He wanted to tell her that his real name wasn’t Michael, that he was not even human,
