Chapter 52
When Pierre woke up in the camp the following morning, he hugged the pillows around him and inhaled deeply, wishing he could embrace a firm body beside him instead. He’d waited until late after Henri left, wondering if Antoine would return, but he never did. Pierre was entirely exhausted from the long day riding, and the sex had been exciting enough that he’d been able to sleep soundly when he did turn in. He’d had no dreams and awoke feeling refreshed but a little lonely.
He heard noises out in the clearing near the main tents, so he stopped by his friends’ tents to collect them. They took a traditional Bedouin breakfast of date pudding with honey and butter accompanied by green tea, and Pierre had seconds because he was ravenous.
