Chapter 58

Before the group separated, they took coffee in Jacques and Yves’s suite. Pierre paced about nervously again. He rested his hand on his hip, leaned on the mantelpiece, then the back of Jacques’ chair, and finally slumped on the footrest at Henri’s right.

“Relax, Pierre,” Henri said with a comforting hand on his shoulder. “I’d love to reassure you more, but we must get ready to visit our brethren.”

That comment earned an excited smile from Jacques. Pierre didn’t want to ruin their mood, so he made a conscious effort to appear calm.

“Yes, of course,” he replied. “I wish you both the best of luck. I can’t wait to hear how it all goes. Be the utmost careful, and may the visit be productive!”

“Thanks, Pierre,” the brothers said as they left the parlor to organize their affairs for the meeting with other djinn-related persons.
