Chapter 24

Father John looked around, and he sighed before returning to the library. He counted the number of drawings on the table and was baffled. He quickly packed them and raced to the control room. He replayed the recording of Emily’s drawing quickly in order to count the number of the drawings, and he did this twice. After all, he realized that the drawing was incomplete; there was one missing from the collection. He went back to the library to look for it but couldn’t find anything.

“Did she hide one away?” Father John said to himself as he tried to remember everything that happened.

He thought back and forth and still could not believe Emily hid one away while he was not looking? How will she do that under his watch? And why? He could only sigh, pack the collections safely, and walk away to make his hourly prayers.
