Chapter 83

After the long night they had morning finally came along, Lisa woke up to the soft and bright rays of sunlight filtering through the windows.

Lisa stretched her body due to the tiredness of the sleep from sleeping on the couch.

“Oh shit!” Lisa yelled, her voice waking Tom up from his slumber.

“What is it, Lis?” Tom asked, his voice almost unclear due to him still trying to recover from the sleep.

“It’s already eight, I’m supposed to be at work at this moment,” Lisa replied, standing up from the couch.

Tom gave a sympathetic smile and tried to calm her down. “Relax, Lisa. We can figure something out. Let me quickly check on Emily.”

Lisa nodded, her mind still racing and worry had engrossed her as she hurriedly made her way to Tom’s bathroom to freshen up. The warm water washed over her body, making her to feel slightly more composed than when her eyes was still sleepy, washing away the slumber, although the stain of worry, she couldn’t wash away.
