Chapter 58
When Mother Eleanor did not succeed in finding out anything during her investigation of the witches, she decided to closely watch her main suspects. Atop her list was Merga, because of all of the time she spent out of the coven. Even though the girl had said she had not done anything to breach the security of the coven, Mother Eleanor, considerably, still had her suspicions. She instructed Cynthia, who was the closest to her of all the young witches to keep a close eye on Merga, unbeknownst to Merga.
That morning, as Merga made her way to the cottage where Robert was, Cynthia followed closely behind. She used a very potent concealing spell that Mother Eleanor had taught her to hide herself. As Merga walked, she got the sensation that she was being followed, but she kept on walking. She stopped severally and turned back to see if she could see who was trailing behind her, but she could not see beyond the concealing spell, strong as she was. After thinking about it for a while,
