Chapter 62

The next day, as Robert thought about the next step he was going to take with his life, he heard a knock on the door, three loud raps, and he knew who it was. Louis. He had been expecting him for quite some time and was starting to get worried that the only other person he had, apart from Merga, had abandoned him. He opened the door and let his friend in.

"I bring news, Robert," Louis said grimly. Robert immediately got the feeling that something had gone terribly wrong. He looked at his friend closely as the man went towards the water jar and took a cup of water to drink.

"Has something happened?" Robert asked frantically.

"Well, I don't even know how to relay this," Louis started, "but I have reliable information that the kingdom of Gladion, by order of King Williams, the king, is making plans to invade Linerdo. And it is happening soon."

"Isn't that interesting?" Robert said, scratching his beard.
