Chapter 71

The war continued. Admittedly, the ranks in the front lines of the Linerdo army missed the unknown soldier that had fought valiantly with them for the past two days, but they persevered and with each battle, they drove the Gladion soldiers back. King Williams was losing his marbles. He could not believe he was losing a battle that he had thought he would so easily win. With each battle, his troops kept retreating. It was clear at this point that it was an ill- conceived war. His generals already started to complain that the soldiers were losing their spirits and becoming demoralized. He listened to the disgruntled generals, rage boiling inside of him. He was losing a war to a kingdom whose king was prostrate with poisoning. Every day, he cursed Diala, cursed himself, but he did all of this silently.
