The corner of my lips twitched up when I sighted a taxi. He thought I wouldn’t be able to get one, but his plans always backfired. For someone with anger issues and no patience, I didn’t think working together with him would bring anything good. The old man should better come up with other alternatives and not have me and him working together. No. Never.

I decided to give it time before I spoke to Mom about it. I would observe the situation. I still wasn’t convinced that Mom would hide something from me. I didn’t want to jump to conclusions yet. I hailed a taxi and gave him my home address. While waiting to reach my destination, I fished out my phone and skimmed through my social media accounts, replying to a few comments on my post. The client I made a cake for sent me pictures from the birthday. I was glad they loved it.
