“What do you mean by that?” I asked.
“Nothing,” she shrugged, diverting her attention back to her food.
I didn’t know why everyone thought Hunter and I had a thing together, or that I wanted to have a thing with him, when in reality, it was far from that. He hated me, I hated him. I rejected him, he rejected me, so I didn’t see anything coming between us. And if something did come between us, it would be strictly business and nothing else. After what he said at the hospital yesterday, I became more curious to know what was going on. I just couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that so many things were unknown to me.
