Chapter 40
Isabella’s POV
This had to be the biggest disaster of the century, and everything was yet to unfold. I wanted to yell, to scream out my lungs, but I knew for a fact that it was going to be useless. Why? I had literally put myself in this situation.
“You can do whatever you want to me.” My words replayed themselves in my head, and I mentally slapped myself. “If I truly disobeyed you, then you can do whatever you want, even if it means driving a bullet through my skull.”
What the hell was I even thinking? Clearly, I wasn’t thinking at all, because even if I had a gun pointed to my head, I wasn’t sure those words would have ever slid past my lips.
But here I was, having just signed off my own death wish, just because I wanted to prove a point.

“Get dressed.” I jumped at the deep baritone that cut through my thoughts. For a moment there, I had totally forgotten that I wasn’t the only one in my room.
