Chapter 108. A Determined Friend

Avery’s POV

Anita walks around the sofa and picks up a bag from behind the sofa. I watch as she takes out a box from the bag. “I told him how he couldn’t let his Madam’s pregnant best friend stand for too long and how you might make things hard for him if I told on him.” She narrates as she carefully unwraps the box.

“Well, I won’t be able to make things hard for him.”

“Why?”

“Because I have nothing to do at that mansion again.” I reply in an obvious duh tone.

Anita shrugs. “If you say so.”

“What do you mean if I say—oh my gosh!” I gasped as Anita opened the box to reveal a diamond necklace and earrings set. My eyes watered with tears as I stared at the live version of my design.

My design had come to life.

“It’s so beautiful.” I whispered, stepping closer to inspect the double layered diamond necklace.

Anita sniffed and handed me the box. “Right? I was so happy, but it soon changed into worry since I couldn’t reach you!”<
