Chapter 96. Small Place
Avery’s POV
“Are you still there? Hello?”
I realize I am still holding the phone to my ear and shift my gaze away from Ethan. “I am sorry, but you were saying?”
“How did it go?”
“I didn’t sign the contract; it’s a long story, and I am going to fill you in on everything when we meet in person.”
There is a pause, and I wonder if she is still on the phone. “Hel—”
“You better stay safe. When are you coming home? I think you would still need the driver.”
“Oh, the driver…” I glance at Ethan, who is busy on his phone, a wide smile forming on my face. “I really appreciate it, but there’s no need to stress.”
“Alright, dear, we will talk later.”
She disconnects the call, and I place my phone back on the nightstand before getting down from the bed and walking up to Ethan.
“Good morning, honey.” I greet him cheerfully, making myself comfortable on his legs. “I noticed you brought my phone and some clothes. Thank you.”
