I was supposed to be learning about photosynthesis.

At least, I was pretty sure that was what the teacher had been droning on about for the last ten minutes. Something about light reactions and carbon dioxide. I wouldn’t know because I’d spent the entire period staring at my notebook, pen in hand, not writing a single word.

I tapped my pen against the blank page, trying to force myself to focus.

Light. Carbon. Plants breathing.

Why exactly was biology compulsory again?

I sighed and dropped my pen. Who was I kidding? My brain was about as effective as a potato right now. My thoughts kept circling back to one thing. Or rather, one person.
