Chapter 101. Just a Little More Time

Amelia’s POV
“Oh my God! What are you doing here?” I yanked the door open wider and grabbed his arm, pulling him inside. “You’re soaked!”
“Yeah.” He shifted awkwardly, dripping onto the rug. “It started raining when I was already on my way. Didn’t want to turn back.”
I blinked. “You rode your bike here?”
He shrugged. “Didn’t feel like driving.”
For a second, I forgot how to breathe. He never rode his bike anymore, not since we got together. Every time he suggested it, I’d dramatically label it a death trap and refuse to go near it. But seeing him standing there, rain-soaked and shivering, I couldn’t ignore the bitter irony. That bike had been the reason we crashed into each other’s lives in the first place and it had been on a rainy day.
“Come on.” I grabbed his hand and dragged him upstairs, my heart racing for a thousand different reasons. “We need to get you out of those clothes before you freeze.”
