Of course, Alpha Magnus knew that his son would come looking for him sooner than expected. Not after he had taken the one thing that he held onto like a lifeline. As he sat down on his throne chair, the war General gave reports of the war with the rogues to the elders but his mind wasn’t present; his ears caught the noise outside—Talon’s threat to slit off Evans throat.
The elders could hear it too and he knew Evans won’t let him in no matter what, so he stood and walked out. The grand door slammed open and Magnus walked out of the room, his jaw sharp enough to cut through glass.
Talon snapped his head at him, a smirk played on his lips. “Oh… it seems the king valued your life after all.” He tucked his dagger into his pants. He struck Evans' cheeks several times. “You might not be lucky next time.”
