My feet tap impatiently on the bare floor of my living room, and for the past ten minutes, my fists have been clenching and unclenching with a furious rhythm. 'What on earth was he thinking, barging in here without any warning?' My mind rages as I observe him settling onto one of the worn-out sofas. Since his unannounced entrance, his gaze has been roaming the room, as though he's intrigued by the depths of my modest surroundings.
"You really need to quit shooting daggers at me, Rena. If you're not going to speak up, we'll just end up in a staring contest all day. I'm not leaving anytime soon." He finally breaks the silence, his tone unimpressed, stoking the embers of my frustration.
