Chapter 127. The Gathering
The Tarvaks pulled the carriage, taking step after step as they moved through the cave toward the portal. The ground shook under their mighty hooves as they moved through the portal. I felt a cold chill run through my body and shivered, wrapping my arms around my shoulders.
“That’s how you know we’ve gone through the portal—that cold sensation,” Mark said, looking in my direction. The Tarvaks pull our carriages for a few more minutes and finally come to a stop. My eyes lit up as I felt our sudden halt.
“We’re here,” Mark said. He reached for the door’s handle on his side and slowly slid it open. He stepped out first, and Damian, Callaius, and Festus followed. I turned to Moriah and let out a sigh, smiling.
“I guess this is it,” I said.
“Yeah, we’re going home—well, not your home, but I’m sure you’ll fit in just fine,” Moriah smiled back.
I reached for her right hand and locked fingers with her, letting out another heavy breath. “Let’s go.”
