Chapter 128. Victor's Plot

General Victor let out a soft groan as his eyelids slowly parted. His vision grew clearer as he opened his eyes wider, and he found himself in a small, dimly lit room. Two candlesticks hung from each wall, and a shelf loaded with bottles of medicine and potions hung on the wall in front of him. He sat up slowly, placing his right palm on his forehead as he felt a slight headache brewing.
He moved his palm to a large scar on his chest, and he let out slow, audible breaths, his eyes parting even wider as he remembered his encounter with me. The image of my face as I struck his chest flashed before him, and he clamped his eyes shut. The glow in my eyes and the darkness that poured out of my body had carved an unforgettable memory into his mind, and the scar left on his chest by my attack served as a permanent trigger.
