Chapter 136. The Scam
Margaret and Caspian remained in each other's arms, their lips entangling in a passionate kiss. She was his first, and he was hers. Strangely, it felt to Caspian as though this was where he was meant to be—by her side, shielding her in his warmth from the cold of the world around them. And to Margaret, it felt like he was the one—the one who could understand her love for alchemy and love it just as she did—someone who could love her for who she was.
After only a minute, Caspian pulled his lips away from hers, and both their foreheads met. They both let out soft breaths that wafted over their faces and then pulled away from each other.
Margaret turned back to the table. “Will you come with us? Maybe… if you’re there, I’ll be able to put up with running away one more time,” she asked.
“Well, I did say I wanted to spend the rest of my days by your side,” Caspian replied, and Margaret smiled.
“But your brother might have my head for this, you know,” Caspian joked
