Chapter 16. Dark Side

“Run away with me. You don’t have to return to the fifth Argaria; we can just move to the nearest kingdom and figure things out from there.” Elena demanded with determination, beaming in her eyes.

“Wait, What?! I can’t… I can’t do that,” I replied with a stutter, stepping back.

“Because you’re not in love with me yet? Am I not beautiful enough for you? I’m a hard worker; I promise I’ll be a good wife,” Elena said, turning back around.

“I know all that, but that’s not the problem,” I said, a drop of sweat rolling down the side of my head.

“So, what is?” Elene asked, turning around to face me with a smile on her face.

I stared at her silently. Could I possibly trust her enough to tell her the truth? That I was actually a princess from the Moonworld and not a male farmer. She seemed like a nice person, so maybe telling her now wasn’t such a bad idea.

I reached for my necklace and was about to pull it off when someone’s voice suddenly sounded.
