Chapter 216. First Conversation

The forest dweller didn’t last long in the arena. They never do when facing a powerful Lycan or Daigon one-on-one. Their lack of proper technique was a flaw the more civilized creatures of the dark enjoyed exploiting. There was, however, one rule Lycans and Daigons always adhered to—never engage two or more Forest Dwellers at once. You’ll die.

Its head erupted in flames, mounted on a long stake the same height as Beatrix. Its body burned beside it, blackened and slowly turning to ash. She watched the monster burn from close range as if admiring a prize, her expression unreadable, her eyes glowing with the reflection of the fire.
