Chapter 84. Invasion

~Helios, Sun-World~

Desmond and Alethea rode side by side on their black stallions, leading a small battalion of their newly recruited soldiers to the gates of the city of Helios, a small kingdom in Sun-World that hardly caught the eye of any of the major rulers. Desmond wore dark gray armor that had the Valtorian insignia embossed on his chest and wore a helmet that completely concealed his face.

Alethea, on the other hand, wore lighter armor colored bright silver with gold strips along the edges of her shoulder pads, gauntlets, boots, and breastplates.

The people of Helios were peaceful people who lived separate from the world’s conflicts. It was a city of trade and commerce, home to those who were displaced by wars and unforeseen calamities. It had buildings beautifully carved from rocks, monuments that honored significant people in their history, and breathtaking sights that evoked peace and calmness in the hearts of men.
