Chapter 86. Feet-Ball

Alethea wandered the streets of Helios early in the morning. Shimmering under the radiant sun that bathed the city with its rays, her bright blue eyes moved from building to building, admiring the architectural designs and colors as she headed toward the royal palace. Her eyes wandered about the oddly shaped and spiral buildings, hand-carved from rocks in the area and wood gotten from some of the farming clans.

The atmosphere was permeated with the scent of the meals prepared on the streets and in eateries and flowers being sold, filling each breath Alethea took with delight, and the laughter of children and people moving about flowed into her ears, filling her heart with a warm, unnatural level of calmness.

A carriage, ordered by Prince Desmond himself, had waited for her at the inn she woke up in, but she refused to ride in it as she wanted to take a stroll to remove whatever was left of the alcohol in her system, and she wasn’t regretting her decision at all.
