Chapter 14. Dinner

“Don’t touch me! Do you understand? Remember our agreement, okay?” she said threateningly. Ben chuckled. “Geez, you seem to find yourself attractive, don’t you?”

“If I’m not that attractive, maybe you wouldn’t have picked me as a candidate, right?” Keira said nonchalantly, managing to silence Ben’s mouth, making things a bit awkward.

They lay on their backs side by side, staring at the room’s ceiling, which was covered with glow-in-the-dark star stickers. “After we get married, things won’t be easy, will they?” she muttered quietly.

“Why not? We can live as partners. After all, two years won’t be long. When you open your eyes, you know our contract is over. Just wait patiently until then...” said Ben flatly.

“What about my pregnancy? I can’t pretend to be pregnant my whole life, can I?”

“I know, don’t worry, we’ll find a way...”

There was another long silence. Only the sound of their breathing could be heard. Suddenly, Keira turned her head toward
