Chapter 21. My Fertile Day
Keira cleared her throat, having concocted numerous stories in her head but feeling uncertain about which one to choose. “Are you a conservative person?” she asked before responding to Granny’s question. Granny shrugged, “Well, you could say no. I’m quite free and modern. Why do you ask?” she raised an eyebrow, curious. Keira started her story by deliberately omitting the fact that the problem she was facing was related to debts. Glancing at Granny, she felt guilty because Granny seemed enthusiastic about hearing her lie.
“We were attracted to each other and decided to chat and leave the party. We drank quite a bit that night and ended up in...” Keira cleared her throat before continuing, “In a hotel room. It all started from there,” she said, her cheeks turning red as she recalled the events of that night. Granny smiled, sensing the honesty in Keira’s tone, even though the reality was not as sweet.
