Chapter 29. The Confession
She knew she should have said something to him but kept silent instead. She let him go just like that. How could he say that to her? Irresponsible person? That was quite rude and harsh. She clenched her fist, watching his car disappear right before her eyes. She didn’t know why, but she felt tears roll down her face. She cried for a reason she didn’t know.
“Excuse me? Are you Mr. Bracey’s relatives?” she turned around to see a nurse in a white uniform greet her with a smile on her face.
“Yes, is he okay?” she asked, wiping the tears from her cheek.
“No, I mean yes, but he needs you right now. He asked me to call you.”
“I’ll be there in minutes, thank you,” said Keira softly. She walked hastily to the hospital, feeling numb.
She breathed in and breathed out, managing her feelings. She saw Luke Bracey half-lying on the bed from a distance with bandages all over his head. He turned to her, “Keira?”
