Chapter 12
Paige walked into the backyard, looking around carefully and I knew she was definitely looking for me. It was dark but I could still see her pretty face. The moon didn't cast its light in the backyard, so even if she were to see me, she wouldn't be able to make me out clearly, and, my fur was brown in colour so it was perfectly camouflaged.
"Chad... Are you okay? Chad?" Paige called out. Her brows furrowed when there was no sign of me around. And that was when our eyes met. Her inquisitive olive eyes and my warm green eyes.
Paige walked slowly towards me and tilted her head to the side, studying me. She stopped, keeping four feet distance between us.
"Aren't you one big dog, but you're so cute though," she said with a smile. "I would have loved to pat your furry head but I don't know how you react with strangers. I'll get to know your name soon enough, and I'm sure we'll become good friends."
