Chapter 17

After dinner, Andre prepared popcorn and drinks for the movie night. Aunt Camille retired to bed as she was really exhausted from work. She also warned us to not disrupt her sleep otherwise she would lock everyone outside– including me and Andre. I laughed because I thought she was kidding but Andre told me she wasn't. We sat chatting on the couch, waiting for our 'guests' to arrive. Shelby was the first to show up, at 6 o'clock, on the dot. Andre was so occupied with talking to her that he didn't know when Bella and Carl arrived. He only acknowledged their presence when Shelby greeted Bella.

"Oh, you guys are here," he said. "Good. Let's start the movie then."
