Chapter 56. Taking a Break

Two more months passed by and Matteo reached his limit. He went over to discuss his mental state with Don. He couldn’t plan another mission at all. He knew it was impossible to get what he wanted.

Don would never release him. He was becoming greedier day by day but Matteo would try. He would try to convince him. He couldn’t waste his life here planning organized crime around the country.

“What is it, Ricci?” Frowned Don, while scratching his chin. Matteo had the feeling that he knew what he wanted to say to him. He was sure the Don would be difficult to convince.

“I have been working for the last eight months for you, Don. I’ve helped you earn more money than you lost in the two years I wasn’t with you. You promised to release me if I did. I cannot plan another mission. I’ve reached my limit. Please let me go.” Matteo watched his face flush with anger as he stood up after banging his fist on his table.
