“You have no reason to feel threatened. I’m not interested in your mafia circuit, Luigi. I’ll go far away from here if that helped.”
Luigi scoffed, not believing a word he spoke.
“Gag him and tie him up, Vince. Throw him in the basement with the other prisoners.”
Matteo struggled to get free, panic settling in his heart. No, this couldn’t be the end of his life. He couldn’t let Luigi capture him.
“No, let me go.”
The men didn’t listen to his protests while the car sped towards a place far away from Don’s headquarters. Where were they taking him to? With his hands tied and his mouth gagged, he couldn’t seek help at all. He desperately checked out the roadside signs to recognize where they were.
