Chapter 36. A Threat Note
Picking up her phone, she punched in his phone number and tried calling him.
After five rings, he picked up the phone. “Brandon? Brooklyn here. Where are you? I miss you so much,” said Brooklyn, but no one answered at the other end. She could only hear heavy breathing when the phone got disconnected. Brooklyn frowned at the mobile phone. Why didn’t Brandon answer her? Where was he?
She sat on the sofa with a magazine and soon dozed off to sleep.
Nikolas couldn’t concentrate on anything since that encounter at the swimming pool. His body was on fire and he repented, not having kissed her. Maybe a kiss could extinguish the flame that’s burning deep inside him. He knew he had unnecessarily attacked her before escaping the house like a coward. Who was he fooling? He didn’t need any seduction, his body felt perpetually aroused when she was around.
