I arrive at work earlier than usual, despite barely getting any sleep the night before. My mind just wouldn't settle, and even now, I can't quite figure out why I felt so restless.
After Sydney and I had our usual back-and-forth banter about guys and their, well, body parts, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. I never knew she had such a cheeky side. It’s refreshing—something lighthearted amid everything weighing me down.
As I settle into my tasks, I try to shake off the exhaustion pressing against my temples. The flower shop is still quiet, the scent of fresh blooms filling the air. I take advantage of the early hours to catch up on work, arrange bouquets, and organize my space.
Sydney, as always, continues to impress me. Managing her father’s business like a pro, she never fails to amaze me. She’s built a strong, independent life for herself, despite everything she’s been through.
