Does he have to follow me to work again, especially after I made it crystal clear that I wanted nothing to do with him?

It’s seriously starting to get on my nerves. Because of him, I had to buy a new dress I hadn’t planned on, and I had to spend extra money on coffee. Sure, he offered to pay, but I said no. That should’ve been the end of it.

But no matter what his intentions are, I don’t want to deal with any man right now. I just want to keep my distance and avoid unnecessary complications.

I take a deep breath and try to focus on my work, but Ethan’s presence lingers in the back of my mind. I glance over at the counter, watching as he examines the flowers, looking far too focused for my liking. What’s he even doing here?

I can’t hold back any longer. I stride up to him, determined to get answers. As soon as I approach, he looks up and meets my gaze, his blue eyes annoyingly calm.

“Can I help you, Ms. Witte?” he asks
