The dinner was a success, and having Anika made it better somehow.

I felt an instant connection to her the moment she showed up, and it helped that she was so sweet. Her English wasn't that clear, which is understandable. The only person she gets to speak with is herself and the little children that she is teaching now.

Sailors didn't come there anymore since no one vacations on the island but they used to when she was younger and she got to speak with them. All she had really was her books and the fact that she could speak it before the accident.

We couldn't talk about everything right then but we had a long time until we figured out how to get off the island. That seems like a long time from now.
