Chapter 32

Amon was startled the moment he heard Nelly's voice. He panicked so much that he didn't even know when he ended the call. 

"Who were you speaking to over the phone?" Nelly asked, trying to get the answer from his facial expression. 

What will he answer? Did Nelly already suspect anything?

No. Nelly was just trying to ascertain if Amon was in trouble or not. She didn't suspect anything. What was there to suspect after all?

"I - I - I was just…um" Amon struggle to voice out whatever was trying to come through his larynx. The way and manner he rotated his eyes only suggested he was just looking for the perfect excuse to give to Nelly. 

Was Amon hiding something from Nelly? 

"Speak up, Amon. Who was it that you were speaking to over the phone and why did you sound so serious?" Nelly was pressing hard, she was so eager to know.
