"You seem really different today,” Lily said with a worried look.

“What do you mean? I’m totally fine, I just need to catch my breath,” Emmanuel replied, struggling to get back on his feet.

“Hey, sit back down. You’ll hurt yourself,” Lily said, pushing Emmanuel back to the ground by his shoulders.

She sat in front of him and stared at him for a few seconds before saying, “Do you think… Ethan is still alive?”

Emmanuel raised his head to look at her. “How’s that supposed to concern me? He decided to leave on his own. Whether he’s alive or dead is his own business…” he said, then turned away from her.

“How could you say something like that? He’s your best friend, remember?” Lily said, shock on her face.
