Chapter 9
“Ivory, listen to me, you can control it. Just focus…” Denise said softly as she walked closer and closer to Ivory. Gerald and the other kids had already run off.
Ivory stared at her with glowing red eyes, a sad expression on his face. He didn’t want to hurt Denise, so he stepped away from her.
“I can’t hold it much longer. It wants to escape; it wants to devour everything. Please… run,” Ivory said, tears streaming from his eyes. His body was fully engulfed in flames, and at any moment, he would lose his mind completely.
“I understand it might seem hard, but you can do it. I believe in you, Ivory,” Denise said, rushing to hug him.
Ivory’s eyes widened as more tears poured out. “Don’t do that! You’ll get burned…” he said, trying to push her away. Denise stubbornly held on tight, and her clothes began to burn. The fire around Ivory grew, and his mind slipped further and further away until finally… he lost control.
