Chapter 18
The weeks went by as Anna flitted from work to her upcoming restaurant, always busy buzzing around and trying to finalize things.
She hadn’t hung out with her friends in ages, but she didn’t have the time to be lonely.
She was ecstatic, it had been too long since she felt this rush of energy that she only got from working.
Her colleagues at work loved her because of her friendly warmth and efficiency. They didn’t even mind that her table was always cluttered with empty coffee cups and forgotten takeaway plates because she occasionally brought baked goods along with her. Today was one of those days.
“Sorry I’m late,” Anna called out as she scurried to her desk. The office she worked in was the kind with an open floor plan, so you could access almost everyone that way. Higher-ups had a more compact spacing on the other floors of the building.
