Chapter 37. Taking Back Control
“What?” Hayden demanded, instantly on edge.
Jared held up a hand, listening. His brows snapped lower. “Say that again.” A pause. Then Jared’s jaw locked. “You’re certain?”
Hayden’s chair whirled back sharply. “What is it?”
Jared ended the call, sliding the phone into his pocket. His voice came out low, vibrating with anger. “The night-shift worker who built the physical therapy wall? Same man who spent weeks around the new house before it was finished.”
The air went still.
Myla felt her stomach dip. “You mean—”
“Every hidden crawl space, every blind spot,” Jared said grimly. “He had access to it all. Both houses.”
Hayden’s hands tightened on the armrests of his chair. “They should tear it all out,” he said flatly.
