Genevieve’s POV

I dropped the glass of wine on the table in front of me. Audrey smiled brightly. I wondered why she had been so nice and apologetic today. Was she sincere because I took her side in front of everyone? Has she really changed as she said? I couldn’t believe her completely so I only took a sip from the wine she offered to me.

"I should leave. See you later Gen," she said before rushing off. Mum picked up the glass of wine in front of me. I now understood why Audrey bolted.

"I hope you’ve not been drinking?" she asked curiously.

"I only took a sip. I could barely savor the taste," I replied. She stared at me with a frown.

"You don’t believe me? Take the glass as proof. It’s still half filled," I assured her, pointing towards the glass.
