Genevieve’s POV

To say I was surprised would be an understatement. I never pegged him as the kind of man who would say or do such a thing. I’ve come to realize that he was the most misunderstood person I had ever met. He had acted so coldly towards me and I thought he was a rude jerk which made me reciprocate the feeling but meanwhile, deep down he actually liked me. He liked me enough to keep a meaningless hairpin.

"You did?" I asked quite surprised. It’s been such a long time. He smiled at me. He never smiled often but whenever he did, his eyes lit up so bright that it was the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen. It did things to me that I couldn’t comprehend.

"I did, a lot. Which was why I was so cold towards you. I tried my hardest not to fall for you. I didn’t think I was capable of that," he replied.
