Hazel's POV

“Hello Alpha.”

I struggled to let words out without making a complete fool of myself because I was already halfway there.

“Hazel,” was the only thing he said. My name.

“The Alpha’s dying inside. And his wolf too.” Lia sounded grumpy and annoyed.

“What do you mean? I thought you were focusing on your Alpha crush.”

“Yes, I am. Unfortunately for me, he’s concentrating on you.”

“Oh. Is that possible? For his wolf to do that?”

“Just shut up and enjoy the attention.”

I felt bad for her. But then again, I felt awkward too. Why was the Alpha staring at me like that? It made me uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable.

“Why is the Alpha staring at me like this, Lia? What do I do? You know you’re the expert here; I’m dying from embarrassment. I cannot believe I let you talk me into not changing my clothes.”

“With the way he’s staring, I feel naked. Like
