“Grether?”
The servant girl paused at the door and turned to me. I was still standing close to the door.
“Sorry for how I treated you the first time. I was being cautious, but it was no excuse to outright put you on the spot like you’d done me wrong. But I hope you’ll understand why I did it and forgive me.”

She left, and I closed the door.
