Chapter 148

Hazel's POV

"What was that?" The Alpha asked.

"Nothing." Did I just growl?

"Lia?"

"I am sorry, Hazel. I was just so angry that I had to yell at the stupid Grether. I couldn’t watch her frame Hailen, keep her in jail, and tarnish our image."

"I am not angry at you. I just thought you would have tried to control it a little."

"I’m sorry."

"It’s okay. I’ll deal with it."

I stared at the faces of the Alpha, then the Luna. I turned to Hailen. Grether had crumpled to the ground in fear and tears. The rest just had shock written on their faces.

I sighed. This was going to be a long explanation filled with many lies. By omission, though. They were going to be lies by omission.

"Get up!" I ordered Grether, and she quickly stood without another word.

"Take your jewellery." I thrust out my hand towards Luna. She eyed me warily and in spite, too. I ignored her.

"Hazel, what was that?" The Alpha asked.
