Hazel's POV

It was noon, and it was only after I had woken up that I realised that I had fallen asleep and that the Alpha was nowhere to be found. His side of the bed was empty. That was disappointing.

"I think he left when we were still asleep." Lia’s sleepy voice echoed in my head.

"He should have told us."

"I guess he didn’t want to disturb us."

"I guess so."

"I am starving."

"Me too. I wonder where Hailen is. Maybe I should go check her up in the kitchen."

"Let’s go. Moreover, I am missing her already."

"Me too."

I stood from the bed, stretching and yawning, when a knock came sounding on the door.

"Who might that be?"

"I don’t know, Lia. But let’s go find out."

"I hope it’s not Luna or Miran; I can’t deal with them right now."

"Me too. I hope it isn’t them."

But it was neither Luna nor Miran. It was Hailen, and she was holding a large tray.
