Chapter 56
She brought the food and placed it before me. I watched her open the flask; the aroma from the food was very inviting. My stomach rumbled, reminding me I hadn’t eaten since I got here.
"Lia?"
"That smells nice."
"I thought so too."
"An alpha idiot is only interested in inflicting pain on us rather than feeding us."
She sulked, conspicuously dissatisfied and annoyed. And I was able to see her face. I couldn’t hold in the laughter; I giggled loudly.
Meaidan shot her head up, her face showing surprise. I knew from her expression that she was wondering what was making me laugh. I sobered up and cleared my throat, averting my gaze from hers.
