Alpha Zach held up a hand, attempting to quell the rising tension. “Vanessa, Mark, let’s all take a moment to process this. Rue came clean, and we must find a solution to ensure her safety.” He sounded understanding.

Vanessa crossed her arms, her eyes narrowing. “Safety? The hell? How do we know she’s not playing us, Zach? She lied to us, to you! She’s nothing but a con artist, and good for nothing golddigger. And now you want us to believe she’s some helpless omega needing protection?”

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my nerves. “Please…please hear me out. I understand your skepticism, but it’s the truth. Mother Teresa runs a cruel orphanage, and I needed a way out. I never intended for things to get this complicated.”

Beta Mark glared at me, his tone accusatory. “And why should we believe you now? You’ve already proven you’re good at spinning lies.”
