Chapter 17. High-Ranked Meetings

After what felt like an eternity, the SUV pulled up to a gated entrance. The gate slowly creaked open, revealing a sprawling estate beyond. The car made its way through the manicured gardens, finally coming to a stop.

As we stepped out, I could not help but look around. I was again wowed by such luxury and fine things. Cassie, Zach, and Mark walked ahead with a purpose, and I followed, feeling like an outsider in their world. 

The entrance doors opened, revealing a grand foyer adorned with chandeliers and exquisite artwork. The air inside was thick with formality, and I could not shake the nervousness that still gnawled at my bones. 

We were ushered into a large meeting room where three individuals sat around a polished mahogany table. The air was tense, and the looks exchanged among them hinted at complicated dynamics.

It became evident to me that this was a meeting of high-ranking werewolves, I was totally out of place. I stuck out like a sore thumb.
